DuraTaq™ Compound

In our 40,000 sq. ft., state-of-the-art facility, our team is capable of producing high-performance belts from materials such as neoprene, fiberglass, urethane, silicone, polyester, foams, and many combinations thereof. We are pleased to be expanding this materials list with our latest product offering, called DuraTaq™.

What is DuraTaq™?

A 100% natural rubber polymer (polyisoprene), DuraTaq™ is designed with heightened durability and an exceptional coefficient of friction. These qualities provide custom industrial belts with high tactility and abrasion resistance.

DuraTaq™ can perform optimally in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 100°C (-40°F to +212°F) while resisting chemicals which include organic acids, ethylene glycol, alcohols, and water—please note that contact with petroleum products is not recommended.

This product was filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), and it’s described as a protective surface covering for “industrial machinery parts that are subjected to abrasive action.” DuraTaq™ can be utilized for the most heavy-duty belt cover applications without fear of excessive wear.

Here are some specifications of the DuraTaq™ compound:

  • Color: Orange
  • Hardness: 45+/- Shore-A
  • Coefficient of Friction: Highly abrasion resistant (Taber H18, 500 Gram Wheel on each side) Wt. loss 0.05 grams after 5,000 cycles
  • Specific Gravity: 1.06
  • Tensile: 3000 psi min.
  • Elongation: 600% min.
  • Tear: 220 lbs. per inch
  • Compression set: Very low
